Rocking Horses

The Stork Craft Horse has the special feature of having long “runners” to help prevent tip-overs. It is constructed of good, solid wood and is a great toy for any girl or boy. This wooden rocking horse has a beautiful mane and tail that little ones love to pull on, run their fingers through, and pet. Many of our child participants were observed petting the wooden horse and saying, “Good horsey, good horsey.”

It comes in the colors of natural, cognac, honey, and cherry. Each is a beautiful rendition of the original toy. Parents of more than one child can purchase wooden rocking horses in different colors so that each child can have his/her “special” pony. This wooden horse will make a lovely complement to any child’s play room.

This wooden horse was easy for our staffers to assemble, they report. The directions from the manufacturer are very clear and easy to understand. The only tool you’ll need is a Phillips screwdriver and just about 25 minutes. The design of the runners seem to be a good choice as, when watching how fast some children can get the horse to rocking, observers can tell what a difference the length of the runners makes to avoid tip-overs.

Many parents felt that the choice not to include a bridle rope on the Stork Craft Rocking Horse was a good decision as it gives the child no alternative to holding on to the bars on the horse’s head to stabilize. When a bridle rope is offered, some children may decide to try to hold onto that as opposed to the handholds on either side of the rocking horse’s head.

These classic toys are a must for every child at some point while growing up. This wooden horse was tested by children ages 2 through 5. The sturdy wood construction ensures that the toy will be able to last a good, long time and hopefully bring great joy to a good many children.

Children love horses and many parents often find their children asking for a “real” horse. The Stork Craft Horse is perhaps the next best thing, and kids can keep this horse in their rooms. Children evidenced no difficulty in getting on and off the horse, or staying on the horse while rocking. They love to pretend they are riding a real horse and hold onto the grips to help them feel secure while the horse is in motion.

Parents also expressed that they liked the look of this wooden horse toy and would have no problem in keeping it out in a main room of their home. As with all toys, especially for younger children, supervision, at least at first, is always recommended. Putting the rocking horse in a carpeted area rather than on wood flooring is also suggested, just in case your tiny tot has any trouble getting on or off the horse when you’re not close by. Carpeting will make for a softer landing.
