Razor Scooters

There are scooters, and then there are scooters. Most children will do well with any sort of scooter that they have. They are able to jump on any Razor and can ride up and down the street, happy to be out in the fresh air and getting some wind in their face. Then there are those children who like to be a bit more daring. Or there are those adults who want to keep up with their children. This is why we were so excited to try the Razor Pro Scooter – another scooter from the Razor family of scooters. This time, however, the scooter is designed not just for young children, but for older children and adults as well!

When we received our Razor Pro Scooter to test, the first thing we noticed was how much heavier this scooter was than the other ones in the Razor line that we’ve tested. Most of the classic Razor scooters are extremely light and are usually under 7 pounds. This scooter, however, is more than double that, with a weight of over 18 pounds! While the weight may be too much for your average 5 year old to carry, it’s not too heavy for a teenager or for an adult to carry around. The average weight, however, is absolutely necessary, once you realize what the scooter can do.

The Razor Pro Scooter is made with the same aircraft-grade aluminum body that the other scooters are made from, albeit a bit heavier. The urethane wheels are equipped with high speed bearings, allowing them to race a great deal faster than most of the scooters in the line, and able to carry heavier loads. The larger size of the wheels is also good for doing tricks, as we found out the fun way. Some of our editors decided to take the scooter to a skate park to see if it really held up as well as the manufacturer claims that it does. It definitely did. In the hours that we played with this, going up and down ramps and attempting to do some cool tricks, the kids scooter never came close to falling apart or even getting dinged, making it the ideal scooter to get for a teenager who loves to do tricks, or for a pre-teen who wants to ride a skateboard but who hasn’t centered their balance enough yet.

The nice thing about the Razor Pro Scooter is not only that it holds up so well, but that it’s affordable. For very little your teen could be executing serious tricks at a skate park, or in their own neighborhood, or you could buy one to use it to get to work and back, as long as your work isn’t more than a few miles away. This little scooter is the perfect example of why Razor scooters have become so popular and why they’re going to be around for a long time to come.
