Ride on Toys

What do you get when you mix together a scooter and a skateboard? In most cases you get a piece of junk, but in one case you get a truly unique toy that allows you to do many of the same tricks that you can do with a skateboard, with the easy steering options of a scooter. The Razor Carvr Scooter is the type of toy that you get when you successfully combine a scooter and a skateboard, and we were more than happy to review something so unique and, at the same time, so enjoyable to play with.

It is small and light, or sleek and stylish if you listen to the manufacturer. It’s easy to carry around no matter whether you’re a child or an adult, and is designed to be used for children who are at least five years old and anyone else under 180 pounds. We definitely put this Razor scooter through its paces once it arrived! Thankfully it was simple to set up, because we were ready to go as soon as it got there and didn’t want to have to wait to put everything together. In just a few minutes, the scooter was ready to play with, and once we got the helmets on, we gave it a go.

The first thing you notice is the ease in which this goes down the road. While the Carvr got rid of one of the polyurethane wheels in order to add on the two skateboard wheels in the back, it is still a smooth enough ride with just the one large wheel in the front to make it enjoyable to ride on any surface, much like with the other models we’ve tested. And while this scooter has the same fold-down handlebars that has made the company so famous, they don’t work quite in the same way that they work in other scooters. For instance, when you try to move sideways, you can, but because there is a steering limiter on the machine, you can only move so far, which allows you to be able to control the toy much more than you can other Razor scooters.

What’s enjoyable about this model is what you can do with it. If you start thinking about it like a skateboard, you can truly get it to do what skateboards can do, including tons of carving and slicing down the street. You can even get it to do small jumps if you practice enough. The Razor Carvr Scooter also has a dual wheel foot brake that you can use in order to do even more tricks. This is the perfect scooter to get for a child who is just learning how to use a scooter, or who wants a skateboard but isn’t quite big enough yet for one. Or for a child who loves to do tricks on a skateboard and who is looking for a different kind of experience.
