Electric

We love reviewing scooters, and while we enjoy reviewing scooters that are not motorized, we also enjoy checking out the many different motorized scooters that are available to purchase. Thanks to technology that is ever evolving, you can now buy one of any number of different types of electric scooters, including those that go extremely fast and those that go fairly slow, for younger children. We were really excited to get to spend time with the Razor E200 Electric Scooter in order to see if this is another electric ride on scooter that makes the mark.

Like other electric riding toys, this one is quite a bit heavier than a traditional scooter. You can’t fold it down quite like you can other models in their normal scooter line, but you can fairly easily adjust the height of the handlebars so that it’s suitable for children of varying heights. We got this one out of the box, and set up, and immediately started testing its weight capacity. While the manufacturer says that you have to be at least 12 or older to ride it, we can safely tell you that if you’re an adult, you can enjoy racing up and down the streets as well – as long as you’re under 220 pounds.

The Razor E200 Electric Scooter is extremely sturdy and heavy duty, and won’t get destroyed if your child, or you, accidentally lays it down on the ground. It also has the pneumatic tires that we love from Razor, which allows the scooter to glide smoothly instead of to bump around crazily. The deck on the scooter is wide and sturdy with a non-slip surface, making it easy to not only keep your balance but to also ride in comfort. It does take about eight hours to charge, but once it is fully charged, it will go for almost an hour of ride time, which is more than enough time to ride around the yard or up and down the street, or to ride to and from school, if you live close enough.

We love that the E200 only goes to 12 miles an hour, making it fun to putt around on, but not too fast to cause any major difficulties with other children. You should definitely make sure that your child, or yourself, uses safety padding, including a helmet, when riding on this electric Razor scooter, because even though it is very sturdy to ride on, accidents can happen when you least expect them to. This is much like the other electric ride on toys that are available on the market, except that its sturdiness, coupled with the motor tapping out at 12 miles an hour, makes it the ideal scooter for pre-teens and young teens. The Razor E200 Electric Scooter is definitely one of our favorite electric scooters to play with, and we know that any child who gets the opportunity to play with one will only be disappointed in the fact that it takes 8 hours to charge.
